We will be
looking at the Constitution and the American System of Government. Along
with the section of the US Constitution (attached in email), we will also
be reading the Introduction Chapter from the book, Framed: America's 51 Constitutions and the Crisis of Governance, is written by Sanford Levinson (acclaimed Professor of Law and Political Science at University of Texas-Austin).
The chapter is 32 pages long, and the excerpt from the Constitution is 4 pages... so I recommend getting a good start early on.
Your homework assignments will always be assigned according to whether it is your first class of the week (Monday through Wednesday) or second class of the week (Thursday or Friday). Pay close attention to which class the assignments are due.

Read the Introduction Chapter of Framed, it is attached to the email in PDF format. Also, you will hand in a paper answering in essay format:
What is the "Constitution of Settlement"?
What is the "Constitution of Conversation"?
Compare and contrast the two.
Provide two questions about the reading.
Provide two key points the author is making.
The essay should not be shorter than seven sentences, and no longer than one page.
